Alain Chavy’s Puligny Montrachet is bursting with ripe tropical fruit characteristics, balanced by a concentrated limey acidity and lick of spicy oak.
Alain’s circle of relatives have been making wine within the village of Puligny Montrachet for more than 200 years. He, farms 6.5 hectares of vines and has developed an enviable reputation for producing wanted premium white Burgundy wine.
Using chemicals is kept to an absolute minimum, and on a regular basis extends only to the prevention of mildew at the grapes. All harvesting is done by hand and following the clicking, around a quarter of the wine is barrel fermented, which provides the completed wine greater depth and intensity of flavours.
