CLOS MONTBLANC – WINES AND CAVAS OF CONCA DE BARBERÁ

CLOS MONTBLANC is the consolidation of a family project that has a long wine making tradition with over 300 years of experience and dedication to the vineyard and to its fruit.

Its origin comes from Les Comes farmhouse, where from the 18th century over five generations have cultivated the land and produced one of the most evocative and iconic wines using artisanal methods. The history of CLOS MONTBLANC is based on enthusiasm and courage with full commitment to the past, present and future.

The winemaker Josep Vadrí, with over 30 years of experience at CLOS MONTBLANC understands the language of the land, accompanying the process that happens to every vine, fruit and wine. With all this knowledge, he perfectly combines traditional wine-making techniques with the latest trends in the wine world.

WINES FROM CATALONIA

Red Wines:

The region of Conca de Barbera is a very good region to produce red wines, having all natural properties to have healthy grapes with a very good maturation and acidity at the point of its harvest.

White Wines:

The region of Conca de Barbera is special for the production of high quality white wine thanks to a micro-clima resulting from a mix of the Mediterranean clima with the Continental clima, with cold winters and hot days and fresh nights in Summer. This particular point of hot weather in Summer makes that the grapes do not mature excessively and the acidity keeps very well equilibrated, enhancing the white wines and offering great long-living white wines.

Rosé Wines:

The key point for CLOS MONTBLANC rosé wine is that the three grape varieties ferment in the same stainless steel tank following a special experimental technique of successive fermentations called “Waterfall”.
